Therese Patricia Okoumou. Patriot.
Reblogging to add: Someone asked what the point of Okoumou’s actions was and basically said that 45 isn’t gonna magically change his mind because someone scaled the Statue of Liberty. I don’t think that was the point, or at least that’s not how I interpreted it. It wasn’t done for HIM, and I’d bet it wasn’t even for politicians in power right now. It was done for the rest of us. To tell us that we can and NEED to do better, be better than where we’ve been led. To get us active in our societies to change things for the better. I’m generalizing a fair bit here, but the Baby Boomers got theirs, they really don’t care what happens next. It’s up to the younger generations to take over and make things better for our kids and neighbors. Her protest was never directed at 45.
